Maggie Bags
|
|
When we recycle, the “Greenest” option of all is to create something new from something that is not being used. Maggie Bags divert usable products from our landfills and saves the resources needed to make new materials. The world wide demand for automobiles has left behind an abundance of surplus man-made materials. Each year millions of yards of seat belt webbing are rejected for the slightest color variation, making the strap useless to the auto maker. Originally designed to be used as the life saving seatbelt in your car, this polyester material is of the highest quality and made to last. Maggie bags give new life to the unwanted fabric by creating a beautiful line of sophisticated handbags.

Nahui Ollin Handbags |
|
Nahui Ollin (pronounced now-we-oh-lean) bags are made from recycled materials. Defective candy wrappers are rescued before being brought to landfills and used in the construction of each bag. It can take up to four thousand wrappers and four days for an individual artisan to construct one bag. Our unique process ensures that no two bags are the same. All the bags are produced in Mexico. The sale of every Nahui Ollin item helps support local artisans who rely on this trade to care for their land and their families. With a growing awareness amongst consumers for environmentally conscious items. Nahui Ollin adds a style like no other.

Anuschka® bags are a feast for the eyes. The colors are a very powerful element in these designs. The wide range of abstracts, imaginary and natural scenes, depicted in muted colors of all shades and hues, transforms each handbag into an object of timeless art. Artisans pride themselves in the creation of every piece. To them, each is the one and only and therefore it cannot be like any other. The specially created and carefully selected, rich and supple cow hide, allows the art to age like fine wine… it only gets enriched with time and attracts even more compliments. |

Out with the new, and in with the old! Crafted from recycled plastic bags, the resulting tough fabric makes this tote great for everyday use and for withstanding whatever the elements bring -- just like the resilient women who make them. Made from plastic bags gathered from trash heaps in east New Delhi by Conserve India, a non-governmental organization (NGO) on the cutting edge of both environmental issues and women's fair trade. That's a lot of good baggage for one cute bag! |

Comfort, organization and style. Those were the goals of AmeriBag® founders Irwin and Margery Gaffin as they embarked upon the process of developing a shoulder bag that could be comfortably worn by almost everyone. Margery had endured back surgery, and was excited about the opportunity to bring an innovative and helpful product to the marketplace. At work one afternoon Danny Kong was given a sample of beautiful Italian tapestry from a nearby showroom. He took the fabric home and, using the skills he had learned as a young man, came up with a simple but beautiful tapestry tote bag. “I felt so happy,” Kong reports, “to be back at work doing something I love.” The following weekend he hung the bag in a friend’s booth at the Hollywood Farmer’s Market. That first bag sold quickly and soon Kong had a booth of his own with a steadily growing following of loyal customers. |

While packing for a much needed vacation, Jacqueline was struggling with too many handbags and too many shoes! Her suitcase just wouldn’t close. Needless to say, a second suitcase was required since going with one handbag and one pair of shoes just wasn’t an option. It was at that moment that the entrepreneurial light bulb went on. Why not create one handbag with interchangeable slipcovers (we call them slips) that can change with your wardrobe, your mood or the season? Bring one handbag, lots of slips and you have many looks, day or night, for your vacation or cruise! To top it off, no need to empty your contents to change your handbag AND if your handbag gets soiled, just slip on another slip-fabulous! |
